outsourcing services to a broad range of clients. The
firm specializes in the economics and policies of Solid Waste
Management.
Working with the public sector, the company
develops countywide municipal waste and recycling plans and provides
support for the design and implementation of associated programs.
In addition, Nestor Resources provides waste minimization and source
reduction guidance and training to commercial and industrial
establishments. The firm also works with private sector operations
that provide solid waste management services including, collection,
transfer, recycling, composting and disposal. Nestor Resources provides
assistance in the areas of regulatory compliance, market research
and analysis, training, community outreach and developing overall
process improvements that enhance profitability and productivity.

Principal and Senior Project
Manager- Michele Nestor
Ms. Nestor,
President of Nestor Resources, is the primary contact for the firm. She
has extensive working knowledge in solid waste planning, compliance
and operations, and provides oversight for all projects. Michele has
over 25 years management experience and has gained comprehensive
knowledge of the Waste Industry through 20 years of diverse
responsibilities.
Ms. Nestor has
hands on project experience in regulatory compliance, permitting,
market analyses, and strategic planning, training and profitability
assessments. In addition to her consulting background, Michele has
held management positions both in publicly held, as well as
independently owned waste companies. She has represented the
interests of clients in the public sector, as well as industrial
waste generators. Her background includes projects involving
demographics projections, market development, customer service,
public outreach and education and analyses of the overall
feasibility of program implementation.
Michele
assumes
responsibility for the coordination, assignment, and timely
completion of all project tasks. In addition she actively
participates and contributes in all phases of research, evaluation.
National Recognition
Ms. Nestor has been a regular featured speaker
at Waste Expo since 1998, providing a variety of training sessions
on productive management, sales, customer
service, and
profitability. She has also made presentations for the National
Recycling Coalition, the Chamber of
Business and Industry, and the International Conference on
Solid Waste and Secondary Materials, among others.

Michele sits on the Board of Directors of the
Professional Recyclers of Pennsylvania and serves as the Chair of
the Membership Development Committee. Additionally, she was
appointed to the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania
Recycling Markets Center and the
Pennsylvania Solid Waste Advisory Committee. Ms. Nestor also sits on the Steering Committee and is a
Facilitator of the Western Pennsylvania Regional Sustainability
Forum.
Robert J. McLaren, P.E.
Mr. McLaren has a
longstanding professional relationship with Nestor Resources and
provides support on many of our projects. Bob has
over 25 years experience in geotechnical engineering with particular
emphasis on environmental projects involving residual, hazardous and
municipal wastes. Bob has
previously held key positions in several environmental engineering
consulting firms and has also worked for the US Army Corps of
Engineers. He has been employed by
and independently, he has provided ongoing technical support to
major utilities.
Mr. McLaren's
projects range from design, permitting and remediation through
planning and feasibility studies for both the public and private
sectors. His experience includes solid waste disposal, groundwater
impacts, and the engineering properties of waste materials with
regard to handling, disposal and utilization. He also has a
background in developing requests for solid waste services and
evaluating and negotiating the responses to those requests. Bob is
also experienced in site investigations, mine subsidence assessment
and control, landslide stabilization, and field and laboratory
testing.
Bob plays an
essential role in analyzing and extrapolating the data gathered for
studies and in surveys He contributes valuable insight for the
development of program options by
assisting with full cost accounting reviews. In addition, he
conducts research and analyses for waste generation and composition.
He has authored numerous technical papers and is an active member of
the Air and Waste Management Association and the Pittsburgh
Geological Society.
